The 4037A and 4037B are neat and unobtrusive omni directional
hand held microphones designed specifically to meet the needs of television.
They have a frequency response described by STC as 'sensibly flat' from
30 to 12000 c/s.
The 4037A is 8.5 inches long compared to 5.5 inches of the 4037B and both are about 1 inch in diameter. They are both finished in black shrivel enamel paint. They were used extensively on both radio and TV OBs until the late 1970s when they were gradually replaced by the Electrovoice 635A and RE50.
